The clash started in an instant. Freyja, endowed as a ruler of the dead, crossed easily into Hela's kingdom. The spear flashed, cracking down, and Hela blocked with her sword, sparks of the opposite realms sizzling at they met. They continued, rulers and masters battling for a single lost soul.

The human side of Hela's face, trying as it might to remain focused, was looking more worried. Her skeletal fingers were barely able to keep their grasp on the orb that held Theoric's soul.

Loki feelings, as much as people doubted they existed, were actually a raging mash of turmoil. He was going to give himself for Theoric, then could be happy for his Sigyn, as much as he hated the thought. However, when Freyja defeated Hel, as he had no doubt she would, that let him once again alone.

He would sooner die then face the life he had somehow fought his way through.

Sigyns warm skin had blanched, and patches were slowly turning darker with blood pooling. Her body was relaxed in his arms, cheekbones pronounced, her body taking longer to completely shut down then a humans. Her skin was nearly as cold as his, and slowly dwindling to the cold cave they were in. He realized that Hela's kingdom had indeed become colder; which means she must be losing her power, redirecting it. Which means this cave wasn't a predesignated part of her kingdom. His mind spun with the implications.

Hela's realm had slowly been creeping up higher, expanding. He had thought they had reached her a bit too soon, but attributed it to his high nerves and anxiety.

His mind was miles away as the bright lights of magic fiercely lit and shadowed his face, his green eyes staring at his wives lips, blood smeared like some sort of macabre lipstick the court woman slathered on themselves. Her blood loss, even as he had quenched it, had soaked through his cloak.

It this wasn't Hela's kingdom, and he died, there was the slightest chance he would not be in her grasp. His face flickered to Freyja, her fierce fighting obviously placing Hela under duress. Hela had obviously underestimated Freyja.

He knew what he needed to do. His eyes had the slightest amount of fear, until he looked at dead wife.

Sigyn's wide eyes looked over the dark scene before her. She could just barely hear the distant sounds of metal against one another, but her attention was caught by her own subconscious, until silence prevailed. Sigyn had woken up to the midnight landscape, a rock smooth plane. She had given off a silvery white glow, the only light besides the distant stars above. Every movement she made at first seemed to move slowly enough for a faded image to follow. The longer she spent in the area, the more quickly she seemed to be able to process this world.

She was standing in front of a lake, looking down into the dark water, only recognizable by the silver light she herself shone by her own luminescence. Her perfect reflection stared back at her, her features colorless, white, and had no dimension. She realized that she could somewhat see the landscape behind her and she was frightened for a moment. Something registered to her, and for a moment, memory returned to reason. She had died a virgin, though she had told both men otherwise, she thought suddenly, but the idea quickly faded, and she wondered where it had come from. Her mind was as open and blank as this night. All she knew is that she was dead, untouched, and was restless.

She had been wandering for what seemed like hours when she almost stepped into the lake. She had not tired yet, but for some reason the dark depths of the water called to her. She stayed there for even longer, an eternity of sitting at the edge, fingers not daring to touch the still liquid.

Then a face flashed before her in the water, handsome, pale, sorrowful. In surprise she touched the water at the color and life he had in this empty place.

With that, the water started churning, and she scrambled back timidly. The night that covered the land lightened, and she saw a vortex had formed. A large shaped appeared over the edge, then to her shock, a large boat appeared, an erect figure of glory and color, dazzling enough to burn her eyes, and she moved into a fetal position, scared, though not sure why. She could feel the movement of the land shifting, and she opened her eyes just a smudge. Well shaped blue feet were before her, beautiful metal rings and the ankles with intricate jewels entwined in the design. They were much larger then her own.

"Sigyn." Sigyn opened her eyes fully as the figure before her called her so sweetly. As she looked up on the woman she seemed to fade, as the woman was gloriously lovely, but also undoubtedly a giant. Arrayed in endless colors, she beckoned, and Sigyn raised herself. The lady held out her hand, and Sigyn put her own in it, the ladies fingers enveloping her entire appendage. The giantess smiled.

"I am Skuld."

And with that, Sigyn retained her memories. She turned to the lady, realizing her.

"The lady Skuld, third sister of the Norns." Sigyn realized why she was so fearful. But the norn was surprisingly comforting.

"Yes, and I am here to have words with you."
